Note: All Modding info is relating to the intermediate 2 (i2) build.
some things will work with older versions some things won't.
Ship Files (.sfo)
The Ship Files are fairly basic and could probably be figured out with out this guide.
FLAK INTERCEPTOR.SFO
SHIP - name / image name
Flak Interceptor Your ship's name. This is important, as this is what it will be called elsewhere.
fighter Case sensitive. This is the graphic name your ship file will use.
DRAW COLOR - R / G / B

170 These three numbers represent the red, blue, and green of your ship. They go from 0 to 255, with 255 being the maximum.
DYNAMICS - radius / mass
16 The radius (from the middle to the outside) of your ship. For help finding this, divide the width of the ship graphic by two.
20 This, the mass, controls how easy it is to throw your ship around when it gets hit. Higher mass means it will hardly move, and low mass means it'll get flung all over the place. A mass below 10 is a bad idea.
MOVEMENT - min speed / max speed / acceleration
100 The slowest your ship can move. (100 is the speed of the convoy.)
400 Your ship's maximum speed.
200 How fast your ship will accelerate.
ROTATION - max rotation speed / rotational acceleration
150 The fastest your ship can rotate. DON'T OVERDO THIS, or your ship will become a spinning nightmare.
1200 How fast the ship accelerates to it's maximum rotation speed.
SURVIVAL - max health
42 Your ship's maximum health. Setting this too high can be classed as cheating…
PRIMARY WEAPONS
Gatling Laser The name of your primary weapon, taken from the name near the top of the .wfo file.
SECONDARY WEAPONS
Flak Rocket Array Your secondary weapon, usually one with ammo limitations.
DEATH EFFECT HEALTHS - smoking health / burning health
15 The amount of health left before your ship starts smoking.
5 The amount of health left before your ship starts burning up!
DEATH PFX - smoking pfx / burning pfx / explosion pfx
tiny_smoke_puff The smoke .PFX file.
small_ship_fire The burning .PFX file.
large_ship_explosion The explosion graphic. These are all case-sensitive.
DEATH SFX - dead explosion sound
big_ship_explosion The sound of your explosive demise. Case-sensitive.
TEAM
1 Used in random missions, this decides which team the ship will be on.
PLAYABLE
1 Decides whether or not this ship is playable in random missions. 1 = yes, 0 = no.
RANDOM DYNAMICS - Escort Frequency - Assault Frequency
0 These decide if your ship will spawn as a NPC in a random mission. The first one is for allies…
0 And the second one does enemies. the higher the value, the more often the ship will spawn.
Notes on weapons
There are three possible sets of weapons in the ship file.
These are: PRIMARY WEAPONS, SECONDARY WEAPONS, and AUTOMATIC WEAPONS.
they can be used independently from each other (eg you ship could have only secondary weapons)
primary and secondary weapons are user controlled. The AI will fire any automatic weapons for the user whenever there is something in range.
Something worth noting is that both human and AI players can only fire ALL their primary or all their secondary weapons at once. This is useful in many hacks/workarounds.
